WORLD AIR POWER ATHLETICS

In 2011, the non-profit public association “European Air Power Athletics Union” (EAPAU) was registered and began its activities in the city of Prague, Czech Republic. This was a turning point in the history of world sports, as for the first time the competition acquired official international status. The first European Pole Sports Championships were held by EAPAU in Moscow in 2011. It brought together participants from 11 countries of the European continent. In 2012, the competition was held in Rome, and then in subsequent years 2013-17. in Prague, on the territory of the EAPAU headquarters. In 2014, the winners of national competitions from all countries of the European Union (28 countries) and former Soviet republics took part in the European Championship. The number of participants reached its historical maximum – more than 150 people. By this time, there had also been changes in the structure of EAPAU. In 2014, the world organization WAAPA was created, in 2019 it was renamed GAPAF. Today GAPAF includes 4 continents. New rules will be launched in 2024.
